National Wildflower Centre
Our proposal for the National Wildflower Centre was shortlisted to one of six entries from 144 entries in an open RIBA competition. The design aims to be made from the site itself. The domes are constructed from predominantly site materials to minimise costs and to promote a healthy building which reduces environmental impacts and stimulates the local economy through the self build potential. The design is a series of intersecting domes using unfi red clay timbrel vaulting, the forms recall plant forms and natural geometries.
Performing Arts Centre
The plans for Old Clapham Library are to establish and maintain a building with a variety of popular recreational, cultural and social uses for the community. The plan will benefit the residents of Clapham, Lambeth and the surrounding area by associating and collaborating with the residents, local authorities, voluntary and other organisations, in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time. The project will include music, dance rehearsal, recording facilities and performance space.
Trenchard RAF Museum
Feasibility study for a small, volunteer run, RAF museum in Herfordshire. The museum is located in an old training hall located alongside the parade ground. The existing building is unheated and un-insulated. This proposal was put forward to attract funds to develop the project and to better preserve the collection of historic aircraft, weapons and artifacts donated to the museum by the RAF.
Aberdyfi Ecology Centre
The Aberdyfi Estuary is situated on the southern coast of the Snowdonia National Park in Wales. This estuary is an important wetland area and has been recognised by UNESCO as the only Biosphere Reserve in Wales. The Ecology Centre has been established to present and interpret the rich ecology of this estuary. It aims to promote interest in local and global ecological and to provide education on wider environmental issues to the general public, tourists and students.
Brighton College Prep School Musicbox
This study was commissioned by Brighton College Prep School to look at a short term provision of music rehearsal and performance space to be used in the interim period as their planned redevelopment to the whole school progressed . The space is 6x10m with a capacity of over 60 people. This creates a new temporary multi- purpose function room providing a space which is identifiably new within the Victorian grounds.
Brighton College Music Facilities
As part of the Brighton College Masterplan Study this proposal creates a new 100 seat studio theatre. The position of the new studio theatre creates a new square. The facades facing the square can be contemporary and enlivened by the placement of a grand stair which takes the audience from ground level to the raked seating.
